微軟在專利當中表示，一種熱管理系統包括熱基座，該熱管理系統包括可操作地冷卻與熱基座物理接觸的計算設備。該熱基座包括殼體、由殼體支撐的第一熱管理裝置和與第一熱管理裝置物理連接的第二熱管理裝置。該第一熱管理裝置與第二熱管理裝置是不同類型的熱管理裝置。
該專利于2019年7月17日申請，并于2020年5月12日公布，微軟可能將其用在不久的將來會發布的產品當中。
